About the Role
As a Finance Business Analyst, you will be responsible for analyzing and optimizing logistics and financial operations within the freight forwarding domain. This role involves deep data analysis, process improvement, cost optimization, and strategic planning. You will work cross-functionally to identify trends, risks, and opportunities that enhance business performance, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
How You Will Contribute
- Analyze freight and logistics data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities.
- Develop dashboards and reports to communicate insights to stakeholders.
- Monitor KPIs related to shipment efficiency, cost, and service levels.
- Conduct credit reviews, adjust limits, and collaborate with sales and finance on risk management.
- Identify and implement process improvements across freight operations and financial workflows.
- Evaluate and optimize freight management systems and technologies.
- Lead and mentor credit control teams across multiple locations.
- Analyze vendor and carrier performance to support procurement and contract negotiations.
- Perform cost and budget analysis, including freight rates, tariffs, and financial forecasting.
- Support financial planning, strategy development, and decision-making with in-depth analysis.
- Conduct market and industry research to inform strategic recommendations.
- Improve customer experience through data-driven insights and operational enhancements.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and support audit processes.
- Propose and implement continuous improvements in financial operations and reporting.
What You Will Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
3–5 years of experience in freight forwarding, logistics, finance, or a similar field. - Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Tableau) and logistics software (e.g., TMS, WMS).
- Experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and cost analysis within logistics.
- Familiarity with process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.
- High attention to detail, organizational skills, and a problem-solving mindset.
- Commitment to confidentiality and data integrity.
- Willingness to travel 30–50% globally to support operations and audits.
- Fluency in English; additional languages such as Dutch, French, or Spanish are a plus.
