Fragrance Development Strategy

• Define clear and precise fragrance development strategies for all incoming briefs, based on market and consumer knowledge, olfactive panorama and benchmarks, taking into consideration all technical parameters of the requests.
• Guide the perfumers and work closely with fragrance application technicians to verify the technical performance and long-term stability of fragrances developed for the category and brief.
• Drive Perfumers to develop successful winning fragrances by sharing product and market knowledge combined with meeting in-use performance benchmarks in alignment with the sales objectives.
• Provide fragrance and market guidance and be a source of inspiration to stimulate perfumers’ creativity.
• With perfumers, proactively develop fragrances reflecting future trends, inspired by marketing, client needs/portfolios and consumer insights.
• Review customer fragrance strategies with marketing and create suitable action plans with KAMs.
• Complete and validate stability tests for sales & perfumers. Present the findings and prepare the appropriate action plans for each failure as required.
• Play a fundamental part in running post-mortem analysis with perfumers, KAM, marketing & application departments to understand learnings for future projects

Project Management

• Lead and coordinate the fragrance development process in a highly complex environment. Collaborate with the sales team and all other interfaces, ensuring all project requests are completed on time and in the correct manner.
• Respect the project parameters and service level in the system (price, deadline, regulatory, dosage, etc.)
• Know the library collection profiles per category, to use as starting points for all briefs.
• Support problem solving with the technical team for any issues related to base separation, sedimentation, discoloration, etc.
• For all submissions, guide the perfumer in preparing fragrance descriptions, by linking to fragrance history and market trends including fragrance structure, argumentation and specific claims.

Library Collection

• Maintain and optimize the fragrance library offer for the category, under the guidance of the Library Manager, to ensure maximum ROI is achieved.
• Ensure the fragrance collection fits local regulatory, fragrance tastes and preferences, and maintain a proper selling rate from the library

Customer and Olfactive Excellence

• Evaluate all new launches and provide the fragrance family to Marketing for the fragrance genealogy from Symrise for respective categories
Act as the fragrance expert in all meetings with customers in order to represent Symrise's fragrance excellence

• Technical background (Master’s degree or equivalent).
• Technical knowledge about market product and customer knowledge.
• 2 years job related experience in fragrance development.
• Specialized sensory and olfactory capabilities.
• Project management, Computer, communication, presentation skills.
• Fluent Business English, with Spanish a plus.
