WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
We are currently seeking a talented Cyber Security Manager (also Hub Team Manager - Portfolio team) in Madrid to join our team at BASF's Agricultural Solutions department Digital Factory.
The Cyber Security Manager is overall responsible for providing leadership and steering AP's Cyber Security Office including developing strategy, steering, monitoring, communication, and maintenance of multiple Information System projects and/or systems and/or products. He/She oversees and assists his/her team (~10-15 direct reports) of resources for Cyber Security and Governance teams in the Portfolio organization and support activities with internal customers. Cyber Security and Governance activities include but not limited to provide a framework, guidelines and processes to enforce and improve Cyber and Automation security at AP.
While rooted in the Agricultural Products division, this role is embedded within a cross functional Hub environment that promotes servant leadership and a strong focus on collaboration and people development, offering opportunities to engage with digital, operational and functional teams.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- This Role is responsible to communicate the regional specific requirements to BASF group functions like GD. Strong relationships, trust and openness are the foundation when new AP requirements must be negotiated with the BASF group functions. The goal is always to use a BASF standard. And if the BASF standard does not fulfill the AP requirements, then this role must influence or convince the BASF group function to change the BASF standard.
- Depending on the hub structure, you will take on the disciplinary leadership of a team or teams. You have a very close relationship with our internal partners in the Operating Division Agricultural Solutions as well as with other BASF units, ensuring efficient stakeholder management and clear priorities in service delivery.
- Together with the functional/line manager, you are responsible for assigning work tasks, agreeing targets and regularly assessing work performance through continuous feedback. Furthermore, your enthusiasm for sustainability as well as your entrepreneurial understanding will help you to ensure excellent service delivery in your team. In close cooperation with the local Hub management team and the AP Hub coordination, you contribute to the strategic development of the department and support the steering of the department through regular reporting.

- You support the recruiting and onboarding of new team members and ensure that they are fully empowered with training and all needed information for Agriculture Business, Organization, Processes and work environment. You are the vital contact partner between the Hub employees of your team and all related Line/Functional & Administrative Leaders of the AP Organization as well as the Hub Management of GD/GB
- Being responsible to organize, monitor and evaluate compliance with security processes and standards across digital products, ensuring adherence to established cybersecurity protocols and best practices. Develop KPI's and prepare Monthly Executive Dashboards and Reports for Senior Management.
MORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- The role has the accountability to ensure Business Process and Cyber Security aligns with the optimized and harmonized focus to Global BASF, Global AP, and Regional AP process. He/she will collaborate closely with the IT Leadership Team, Product Owners and Platform Owners, to steer, communicate and monitor to improve security compliance.
- Collect feedback, address impediments, and advocate for process improvement, teamwork, and adherence to APB/I's ways of working to drive continuous improvement. Provide guidance and support to Product teams during assessment and remediation. Identify skills gap and address it through increasing awareness, communication and addressing upskilling needs in AP's Digital community.
- Align new requirements with team capacity, priorities, and report team performance to stakeholders. Facilitate productive team meetings, fostering equal participation through open communication to promote collaboration and innovation. Provide mentorship and guidance to ensure successful implementation, offering training or coaching for enhanced collaboration.
REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION
- Degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering or IT related fields
- Work experience in respective data area
- Min. 3 years of experience in leading teams in a professional capacity
- Experience in internal o external Stakeholder Management
- Work experience within BASF Group
