- Support the implementation and optimization of material flow processes in alignment with the central logistic organization, reporting project status to different stakeholders
- Support the creation and implementation of operational instructions to train material handling teams while ensuring high safety standards
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including process, maintenance, installation, automation and facility
- Responsible for incorporating and ensuring that cleanliness and quality requirements are met in all logistical processes.
- Support the headcount and cost plan of a specific plant area
- Regular alignment with the Headquarter in Salzgitter, plant network (e.g. Salzgitter, St. Thomas (Canada))
- Coordination and working together with different department like HSE, HR, finance, purchasing, construction, manufacturing, quality, logistic, technic areas, legal from the requirement site as well for permission or legal requirement or contractual points.
During serial production:
- Improve material flow processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of external service providers to ensure adherence to contractual agreements and service level expectations.
- Implement and optimize processes to ensure seamless and efficient material flow during serial production.
- Address and resolve any issues related to material flow and external service provider performance promptly.
- Launch of new tenders and lead the purchasing process for logistics services.
- Utilize data analytics tools to track key performance indicators, providing regular insights to management on material flow operations.
- Ensure all material flow processes comply with industry regulations and company standards for safety and quality.
- Education in Logistics / Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years spent in a related logistics planning function, ideally within a large, global organization.
- In-depth, proven experience in logistics technologies planning, ideally within a new facility or re-vamp
- Proven knowledge of modern logistics technologies and solutions
- Experience with vendor selection, evaluation, Request For Proposals/Request For Quotations, contract negotiations Ability to work effectively and efficiently in an environment of shifting priorities, timelines, and occasional ambiguity.
- A global mindset, with a customer driven approach and ability to build trust and relationships.
- Experience in battery or battery cell logistics is considered an asset.
- Ability to travel (internationally) up to ~ 20%
- German language skills are considered an asset.
- Experience on battery production or cells manufacturing Independent cooperation with various project partners
