Role Summary:
The Logistics Operations Project Leader will support end-to-end performance improvements and cost reductions through project management and the implementation of continuous improvement tools and methodologies across Axalta’s logistics network. This leader will be expected to develop roadmaps aligning logistics to business requirements, maintaining project funnels and driving project cadence and review cycles with cross functional teams, driving logistics performance, and leading efforts for project, systems, and report management. This project leader will be a member of the Regional Logistics team reporting to the Director, Global Network Optimization within Global Supply Chain.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Logistics improvement and optimization initiatives from idea generation to realization and financial validation. Partner with internal/external stakeholders to identify opportunities and build a pipeline of logistics-related cost savings opportunities. Track and drive cadence.
- Identify business improvement opportunities by analyzing data and gathering voice-of-customer.
- Manage and lead improvement teams across multiple sites, business segments and/or functions comprising the end-to-end supply chain.
- Ensure responsibilities and controls are in place to sustain improvements, including support and ownership, where improvements must be maintained
- Represent and provide input on behalf of Logistics function in cross-functional projects.
- Prepare Annual Budget for Logistics Projects Initiatives and support further input for FPDE Annual budget per Segment & cost category.
- Lead change through facilitating savings workshops and applying continuous improvement and Six Sigma tools and methodologies. Drive automation of tools and reporting.
- Draft charters for improvement projects, gain alignment / approvals from process owners and sponsors on the charters and planned improvement work
- Manage and maintain global logistics roadmaps and project funnel, project timelines and governance. Project manage key logistics projects.
- Drive operational and financial results to include performance, trending, and proper actioning.
- Design and develop and standardize operational reports and dashboards to monitor data integrity and other key objectives and performance indicators.
- Develop and drive supplier scorecards and ongoing supplier performance improvements, partnering with international teams across all regions.
- Define and influence global reports and other presentation materials as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations, Logistics or Supply Chain required. Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum 5+ years' work experience (at least 2 years in a supply chain or logistics-related role)
- Preferred experience in automotive, industrial coatings, or the broader chemical segment.
- Project management experience or PMP certification strongly desired
- Communication skills and ability to build strong and collaborative relationships with internal or external partners at different levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated team leadership experience, serving as a change agent to drive continuous improvement
- Capability to perform basic statistical analysis required. Six Sigma certification a plus.
- Experience with network optimization or modeling desired
- SAP knowledge preferred
- Experience with facilitating Kaizen events or improvement workshops
