Platform Engineer
Madrid Office - Hybrid: 4 days in the office, 1 day working from home
Our platform engineering team is seeking an experienced Platform Engineer. You will collaborate with multiple development teams to accelerate value delivery to our customers and achieve business objectives.

Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with development teams to accelerate value delivery and enhance scalability and reliability for clients.
- Work within Platform Engineering to ensure high availability and reliability of our platform.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of new systems and services, meeting reliability and scalability standards.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure and application monitoring, incident management, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Utilize observability tools to gain insights into system performance and health, guiding improvement decisions.
- Design and implement automation tools and processes to boost efficiency and minimize downtime.
- Participate in on-call rotation to address critical incidents and guarantee system availability.
- Stay current with emerging technologies, tools, and practices in Platform Engineering and infrastructure.
About You:
- Experience in building large-scale distributed systems.
- Strong understanding of cloud architecture and application deployment models (AWS preferred).
- Experience in operating web-scale deployments of containerized systems using Kubernetes and/or Amazon Container Services.
- Deep understanding of programming languages and the systems you have worked on.
- Enthusiasm for writing code, primarily using Python (prior experience beneficial, willingness to learn essential).
- Passion for designing large systems with scalable and elegant interfaces.
- Proactive approach to identifying and resolving root causes, and collaborating with code owners to prevent recurrence.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and a commitment to upholding Ebury's values.
Nice to have:
- Experience in the FinTech industry.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
- Familiarity with security and compliance requirements (e.g., HIPAA, SOC 2, GDPR, DORA) is a plus.
- Proficiency in Spanish or Portuguese is advantageous.
