Cruising for more than 51 years, European Waterways are the owners and operators of a fleet of luxury hotel barges located in France, Holland, and Scotland.
European Waterways is the owner and operator of 12 barges measuring from 30 to 39m. These barges can accommodate 8 or 12 guests maximum, depending on the size of the barge and have a crew of 5 to 6 people including, at least, a pilot/captain, a tour guide/deckhand, a chef, and a host.
Guests come onboard for a 6-night all-inclusive cruise. Our goal is to provide them with the best service to ensure they enjoy a truly unique experience.
Our season runs from mid-March to mid-November.
We are looking for a Chef for one of our barges located in the Burgundy region (France) as part of a 5 months seasonal contract.
The main duties of a Chef are:
- Create and prepare a menu basis according to the local products and the allergies and diet requirements of the guests.
Each day you should offer hot options for the breakfast, a 3-course lunch or a buffet style lunch, amuse bouche for the pre-dinner and a 4-course dinner.
The menu should be healthy, balanced, includes fresh local products and regional specificities.
- Maintenance and general cleaning of the galley (respect the HACCP rules, check the fridge temp, etc.)
- Cooking for crew
- Stock control
- Shopping according to the budget twice a week
- Cooking demonstration once a week
You benefit from a previous experience in fine dining, chalet or yacht.
You know how to work both independently and in a team.
You are creative and willing to share your knowledge.
You have a good level of English (C1/C2)
Seasonal contract of 5 months with salary depending on your experience
Our crew members are provided with food and accommodation on board our boats during the season.
Tips are given at the discretion of customers.
