Functions
Product Safety Management:
- Define and keep up to date the information in the product portfolio regarding hazards, exposure, precautions and safety measures in the use, handling and storage of products.
- Generate safety data sheets for raw materials and formulas and implement new languages and regulations.
- Review and detection of technical inconsistencies in the SDS through the harmonisation of information in the different sections.
- Maintenance and review of the C&L notification process.
- Review of the impact of detected impurities on the hazard classification of products in the portfolio.
- Notification of formulas to poison control centres in European countries through the ECHA portal.
- Creation, review and maintenance of Product Safety databases (Chem-SD, SAP, etc.).
- Document validation through the Alfresco document management system.
- Providing specialised technical assistance to customers in relation to Product Safety queries.
Internal and External Regulations:
- Ensuring compliance with current legislation.
- Ensuring legal compliance with the labelling of products and mixtures in accordance with current and applicable regulations.
- Maintaining procedures for the generation of safety data sheets and exposure scenarios that are up to date and in accordance with applicable legislation.
- Comply with and ensure compliance with general and specific rules, procedures, and instructions for occupational risk prevention and environmental protection, food safety, and GMPs, as well as promote them in your area and workplace.
- Know and apply the Emergency Plan. If you detect any situation that poses a risk to people, facilities, the environment or food safety, report it immediately.
- Ensure proper waste segregation.
- Comply with both general and position-specific policies and procedures, and ensure that all tasks within your scope are carried out to facilitate the achievement of the company’s objectives.
Communication and Training:
- Effectively convey information to relevant stakeholders and/or within the supply chain in the field of dangerous goods transport, emergency call management centres, European entities designated for the management of hazardous mixtures and various users in the supply chain.
- Conduct internal training and onboarding.
Supplier Management:
- Manage supplier approval (new and current through the re-approval process).
Process Improvement:
- Identification and implementation of opportunities for process improvement and automation.
- Keeping the system up to date through the management and creation of robust processes.
Requirements
Education:
- University degree in Chemistry, Chemical engineering or similar.
Specific knowledge:
- Data processing and IT tools (MS Office, digital editing, web search, databases, etc.).
- Courses, workshops and conferences related to product safety (CLP, REACH, GHS, Poison Centre notifications, etc.).
Complementary Knowledge:
- Master’s degree or postgraduate qualification in Toxicology, Safety and Transport of Chemical Products or Cosmetics and Dermocosmetics.
- Specific knowledge of Cosmetics Regulation (EC) 1223/2009 and detergents.
- Document management and process digitisation.
- Knowledge of F&F raw materials: essential oils and aromatic chemicals (natural and synthetic).
- Knowledge of transport hazards (IMDG-IATA-ADR).
- Occupational risk prevention in the chemical industry.
- Postgraduate degree in Perfumes and Fragrances, Market and Applications or Isipca.
