JOB PRUPOSE

Ensure students make outstanding progress in their learning by:

Teaching
Plan effective lessons that reflect the department Unit Planners.
Lead lessons which reflect the school's Teaching and Learning Charter and effectively assess student progress to provide support and challenge.
Provide regular verbal and written feedback in line with the school's assessment policy.
Maintain sufficient records of student attainment using official platforms.
Participate in curriculum-based field trips and co-curricular activities, including NAE Global Campus.
Prepare students for external examinations and determine predicted grades.
Advise students on option choices.
Participate in Academic Board meetings to support individual students.
Pastoral
Keep regular attendance records.
Liaise with relevant teams to ensure support for students in need.
Perform break and lunchtime duties.
Report safeguarding concerns.
Mentor older students when appropriate.
Uphold the student Code of Conduct.
Role of Tutor
Undertake the role of Form Tutor.
Ensure Daily Wellbeing Time and lessons are effective.
Build relationships and trust with students.
Support assemblies and class presentations.
Support student transitions into and out of Hamelin-Laie.
Support students with CAS responsibilities.
Parents
Complete regular reports and attend conferences.
Maintain records of student attainment.
Communicate proactively and informally with parents.
Promote school and teacher achievements through various media.
Support admissions with open days.
Environment
Promote a positive learning attitude and manage classrooms effectively.
Organize classrooms to support learning and celebrate student success.
Report Health and Safety or IT issues promptly.
Ensure equity, celebrate diversity, and foster inclusion.
Teamwork
Support colleagues and school communities.
Assist Heads of Subject and Year with development plans.

Person Specifications
Qualifications/Training
Bachelor's degree in Art related – Essential
Teaching degree – Desirable
Experience / Knowledge
Experience in an international setting – Essential
Experience with A Level, AP, IB MYP, IB DP. Year 8 - 11 (1-4 ESO) the last 3–5 years – Essential
English: native or advanced level – Essential
Passion and detailed knowledge of subject areas – Essential
Spanish: knowledge – Desirable
