Role Summary
As a Senior Backend Developer, you will be a core contributor to our Account Security team, that is at the forefront of protecting our customers' money and safeguarding the integrity of our platform. We are responsible for building and maintaining the core security infrastructure that underpins user trust and operational resilience across the company.
The scope spans three strategic pillars:
- Customer Security: We implement key protective measures such as login management, multi-factor authentication (MFA) and account takeover detection to ensure secure and seamless customer experiences.
- Platform Security: We develop scalable, decentralized services including bot detection, rate limiting, user fingerprinting, OAuth authorization, and real-time threat mitigation systems.
- User Management: We build a robust user platform with support for roles, permissions, SSO, workflow approvals, and multi-account ownership.

What You’ll Do:
- Take a leadership role in achieving team goals, contributing to the overall design, architecture, development, quality, and production deployment of the team's systems.
- Design and implement robust, scalable, and maintainable backend solutions for complex scenarios, ensuring high-quality results that may be consumed by other teams.
- Collaborate effectively within your team and with cross-functional partners, such as Product, Design/UX, DevOps, and other R&D teams, representing your team as needed.
- Maintain and improve the team's engineering practices, suggesting and implementing technology, patterns, or process enhancements.
- Proactively identify areas of improvement in team systems, processes, and scalability.
- Lead by example in code quality, contributing significantly to code reviews and acting as a focal point for engineering excellence questions.
- Help monitor production systems, investigate potential issues, and lead efforts to resolve critical production challenges while maintaining a customer-centric approach.
Who You Are:
- 7+ years in backend software engineering roles, with demonstrated ability to navigate technical trade-offs and ambiguity effectively.
- Proficiency in C#, Java, or similar object-oriented languages.
- Expertise in SQL and database management
- Strong knowledge of data structures and algorithms.
- Experience with microservices architecture.
- Experience in designing new functionality for existing complex components while maintaining scalability and performance.
- Ability to collaborate effectively and communicate technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
- BA/BSc in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
