In Spain, Thales Sistemas is specialized in Command and Control systems, Tactical Communications and Modeling and Simulation addressing solutions in the domain of Defense and Security. Thales is the Spanish leader in tactical Land CIS (Communication and Information Systems) covering all the product life cycle (design, development, production, ILS). Based in Leganés, Thales Sistemas employs a highly specialized workforce of more than 100 people, most of them engineers that participate in the following activities:
- Communications and Information Systems (CIS) to support Command function and Decision Making:
- Embedded electronics for military aircraft
- Tactical Communications
- Radio Navigation Aids for air traffic
As part of the Air Traffic Team, you will participate in Air Navigation and NavAids projects (ADS-B, TACAN, DVOR, CVOR, DME, …), knowing Thales technology in Air Navigation, the civil and military standards involved and the special characteristics of the client's Air Traffic Systems.
As an Air Navigation & NavAids Engineer Intern, you will:
- Drafting and/or editing technical documentation for Projects and Offers (System Requirements, direct and reverse traceability with client/system requirements and tests, Verification and validation tests for systems, Installation Plans for the systems, Installation Reports, Operational Safety Documentation, Maintenance Manuals, Client Training).
- Integration of Air Navigation Equipment in critical communications networks
- Configuration, Commissioning and testing of Air Navigation Equipment.
- Evaluation and testing of the configuration established for the Client.
- RF signal simulation studies for the systems.
Competences:
Technical/functional skills:
- Degree in Aeronautical Engineering (Specialization in Air Navigation) or Telecommunications Engineering, Industrial Engineering.
- A medium/high level of English is required since the reference documentation is in that language and it is necessary to participate in meetings in English.
- Knowledge of Air Navigation Systems.
Other (advantage):
- Knowledge of Networks
- Knowledge of Microsoft Windows technology and Linux Operating System at administrator level
- Knowledge of Energy Systems
- Knowledge of signal integration in PLCs
Behavioural skills:
- They should have social and communication skills, as they will assist and support Thales staff in user training and meetings.
- They will also be required to write documents and emails correctly, accurately and in an understandable manner.
