Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical Associate to join our investment team in Madrid. The Associate will play a key role in evaluating new investment opportunities, supporting transaction execution, and contributing to portfolio company value creation. This role is ideal for candidates with a solid foundation in finance and a strong interest in building a long-term career in private equity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deal Execution: Support all aspects of transaction execution including due diligence, financial modeling, valuation, preparation of investment memos, and coordination with external advisors.
- Market Research: Conduct industry research and competitive analysis to identify attractive investment themes and opportunities.
- Financial Analysis: Build and maintain detailed financial models, perform scenario analysis, and assess the financial and operational performance of target companies.
- Portfolio Monitoring: Assist in monitoring the performance of portfolio companies through regular analysis, KPI tracking, and board materials preparation.
- Sourcing Support: Participate in the screening of new deal flow and help manage the deal pipeline.
- Presentation & Reporting: Prepare internal and external presentations for the investment committee and other stakeholders.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with Vice Presidents, Directors, and Managing Directors to support day-to-day investment activities and strategic initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in Private Equity, Investment Banking, or Strategy Consulting.
- Strong academic background with a degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, or related field from a top-tier university.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with financial databases is a plus.
- Demonstrated experience in financial modeling and corporate valuation.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple workstreams under pressure.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Fluent in Spanish and English (required).
