The Business Development Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of the business strategy for the L'Oréal Dermatological Beauty (LDB) pharmacy channel in Spain and Portugal, with a focus on the development of category plans and the execution of trade marketing activities. The Manager works closely with the sales and marketing teams to ensure strategic alignment and maximize the profitable and sustainable growth of LDB's brands in this channel, building strong relationships with key customers and identifying new business opportunities. Their role is key to optimizing the visibility and positioning of LDB's brands at the point of sale through the implementation of innovative strategies and the creation of value for the customer and end consumer.
Main Responsibilities:
- Development and Implementation of Category Plans: Develop and implement category plans for the pharmacy channel, analyzing market data, consumer trends, and competitor behavior. Define optimal assortments, pricing strategies, and promotions, with the goal of maximizing profitability and market share for the category.
- Trade Marketing Activities Execution: Plan and execute trade marketing activities to boost the visibility and sales of LDB's brands at the point of sale. This includes developing point-of-sale (POS) materials, organizing events and promotions, and managing customer agreements.
- Collaboration with Sales and Marketing Teams: Work closely with the sales and marketing teams to ensure alignment of the channel strategy with the overall brand strategy. Participate in the development of new product launch plans and the definition of marketing campaigns.
- Market and Competitive Analysis: Conduct market and competitive analysis to identify growth opportunities and anticipate market trends. Monitor competitor performance and propose actions to maintain LDB's competitive advantage.
- Monitoring and Reporting: Continuously monitor the performance of the parapharmaceutical channel and category plans. Prepare periodic reports on sales, profitability, and other key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Pharmacy, or similar. An MBA or postgraduate degree in a related field will be a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in sales roles, preferably in the parapharmaceutical channel or the pharmaceutical/cosmetics industry.
- Solid knowledge of the parapharmaceutical market in Spain and Portugal.
- Negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
- Analytical ability, results-orientation, and strategic planning skills.
- Fluency in Spanish and English (spoken and written). Knowledge of other languages will be an advantage.
