Since 2019, and thanks to the support from the European Commission, OpenNebula Systems has been leading the edge computing innovation in Europe, investing heavily in research and open source development, and playing a key role in strategic EU initiatives such as the IPCEI-CIS and the “European Alliance for Industrial Data, Edge and Cloud”.
We are currently seeking a Cloud-Edge Ecosystem Management Advisor (Contractor) to join our IPCEI-CIS project as part of our new team developing the next-generation management platform for the Cloud-Edge Computing Continuum. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to a cutting-edge initiative, shaping the future of cloud-edge interoperability, AI integration, and next-gen infrastructure management.
Objective
We are seeking a Cloud-Edge Ecosystem Management Advisor to provide expert guidance and support to the ONEnextgen project team in building and managing strategic collaborations across the cloud and edge computing ecosystem. This role is advisory in nature, designed to complement the internal team by offering insights, recommendations, and best practices for fostering interoperability, forming partnerships, and scaling the ecosystem impact of the project.
The advisor will contribute to the project’s goals by helping define strategies for partner engagement, ecosystem development, and technical alignment—especially within the context of the IPCEI-CIS ONEnextgen initiative. They will offer ongoing support to internal teams working in an agile, use-case-driven environment focused on designing and validating a next-generation management platform for the Cloud-Edge Continuum.

Activities in WP1 Next-Generation Architecture for the DC-Cloud-Edge Continuum of IPCEI-CIS ONEnextgen Project (UNICO IPCEI-2023-003)
Services
- Advise on the design and execution of a Cloud-Edge Ecosystem Program, including partner profiling, prioritization, and engagement strategies aligned with key use cases.
- Provide strategic input on market trends, partner needs, and competitor positioning to inform ecosystem strategy and technical alignment.
- Support the team in identifying and qualifying potential project collaborators and spillover opportunities across project work packages.
- Offer recommendations to optimize collaboration processes and help structure existing partnerships for long-term success.
- Provide guidance on collaborations evaluation and negotiation, assisting the team in shaping agreements that are technically and strategically aligned.
- Support alignment between ecosystem engagement and internal R&D efforts, working closely with product and engineering teams.
- Monitor and advise on relevant industry trends, including cloud-edge integration, standardization, and market evolution in sovereign and distributed computing.

From 1st August 2025 to 30th June 2026 (11 months)

Budget
Maximum hourly rate is 45 euros
Maximum work hours per year is 1.800
The maximum estimated cost is 6.750 euros per month, and a total of 74.250 euros.
Technical Specifications

- +5 years of hands-on experience in the specific area
Evaluation Criteria
Eligible contractors will be prioritized according to the following criteria:
- Price: Cost per hour
- Education: Bachelor, Master or PhD in Computer Science
- Additional Experience: Number of years of additional experience (beyond the required minimum)
Administrative Specifications
Before the signature of the contract, the successful selected contractor will be requested to provide the following certificates:
- Positive certificate, issued by the local Social Security Authority, to the effect that the contractor is up-to-date in compliance with its Social Security obligations; or similar document according to the the law of the country in which the contractor is established
- Positive certificate, issued by the local Tax Authority, to the effect that the contractor is up-to-date in compliance with its tax obligations; or similar document according to the the law of the country in which the contractor is established
The successful selected contractor will be given a two weeks period after the notification of the award to provide the above-mentioned documents.
