We're building the future of advertising and are looking for the minds to help us do it.
What we’re building
Darkroom is a vertically integrated digital agency that works with some of the most well known challenger brands in the consumer space. We’re now building a major technology layer that will mark the next major chapter of our firm.
Under the Darkroom umbrella, we are developing an AI coordination platform that provides shared AI memory, centralized agent control, and scalable infrastructure for creative teams. This is where you come in: we need someone who can architect and maintain data pipelines capable of supporting thousands of users as we scale.
About the role
We are seeking a skilled Senior Data Engineer for a part-time contract with the potential to grow into a long-term role. You’ll collaborate with our CTO and product teams to design, build, and optimize robust data transformations and integrations for our always-on AI platform. Your work will have a direct, measurable impact on our product velocity and the success of both our internal ventures and the world-class brands we serve, from high-growth startups to household names.
Key Responsibilities
Architect, build, and optimize scalable end-to-end data pipelines using dbt and our stack (Python microservices, Postgres, BigQuery, and GCP).
Design, implement, and maintain ETL/ELT processes to ingest, clean, and transform large datasets from a variety of sources.
Collaborate with product and engineering to define data requirements for new product features and analytics initiatives.
Ensure data reliability, integrity, and security at scale.
Troubleshoot, performance-tune, and document all pipelines and data workflows for smooth handoff.
About You
5+ years of hands-on experience building production-grade data pipelines, ETL/ELT workflows, and transformed datasets at scale.
Expert-level Python; strong experience with dbt, Postgres, BigQuery, and core GCP data services (e.g., Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Storage, Composer).
Demonstrated experience architecting, optimizing, and troubleshooting cloud-based data infrastructure.
Familiarity with marketing / digital marketing analytics, BI tools, and data visualization platforms is a big plus.
Startup or contract/consulting experience strongly preferred; you move quickly and commit to clear deliverables and deadlines.
Excellent communication skills: you read requirements carefully, keep stakeholders looped in, and document as you go.
Low-ego, high-ownership, and passionate about building product-focused solutions.
