ROLE SUMMARY:
The British College of Gavà, an Inspired school, is seeking to appoint an IT Intern to join us on 25/08/2025 on a fixed term and full time basis
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated IT Intern to join our Information Technology department. This internship provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the technical aspects of IT support, maintenance, and troubleshooting within a school environment. As an IT Intern, you will work alongside our team of professionals to support the school's technological infrastructure, assist with computer hardware and software issues, and help ensure a smooth and effective tech environment for students and staff.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in troubleshooting hardware and software issues for students, faculty, and staff.
- Help set up and configure computers, printers, and other tech devices.
- Provide basic technical support and training for students and staff on software usage.
- Assist with the maintenance and updates of school technology systems, networks, and devices.
- Help monitor and ensure the security of school IT infrastructure.
- Assist in the setup of multimedia equipment for classrooms or events.
- Support teaching staff with the set up and use of the Virtual Reality classroom
- Document technical issues and resolutions for future reference.
- Collaborate with the IT team to ensure the smooth operation of day-to-day activities
- Support the installation and configuration of educational software and applications.
- Help with inventory management of technology equipment and supplies.
- Take on other duties such as patio duties, trips, invigilations and registration
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Basic understanding of computer hardware, software, and networks.
- Proficiency with Windows and Mac operating systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Enthusiasm for learning and adapting to new technologies.
