Laboratory Technician (Neurodegenerative Diseases)

We are currently seeking a Laboratory Technician to join the Neurodegenerative Diseases Group.

Education and qualifications:

Required:

• Higher Vocational Training in Clinical and Biomedical Laboratory Techniques
Certificate in handling animals for research purposes

Experience and knowledge:

Required:

• At least 4 years’ experience working in a research laboratory
• Experience in animal experimentation: handling, behavioural testing and sample processing
• Experience in cell biology and molecular biology techniques, including:
  • Protein analysis methods
  • Maintenance and manipulation of cell cultures
  • Histopathology techniques
  • Immunofluorescence microscopy
  • Purification and processing of biological samples (DNA, RNA, proteins)
  • PCR, quantitative PCR, genotyping, etc.

Desired:

• Relevant training courses related to the job description (biological techniques, animal handling, quality systems, etc.) will be highly valued

Main responsibilities and duties:

• Provide technical support for mouse-based experimental procedures.
• Provide technical support for various molecular biology methods.
• Assist in laboratory organization (e.g. managing orders, preparing reagents, maintaining stocks).
