- Research the available product information from requirements, specifications, and user stories.
- Interact with technical engineers, product managers, as well as field teams on occasion.
- Quickly grasp and interpret technical information shared by product team members.
- Work largely independently to produce documentation needed for upcoming releases and features.
- Develop, publish, and maintain end-user documentation within release timelines.
- Embrace "docs as code" methodology, including having some understanding of the automated workflows used in the publishing process.
- Ensure documentation free of typographical and grammatical errors.
- Have enough understanding of information architecture to be able to place your topics within the current documentation structure and/or create new structures.
- Interact with cross-functional teams to better understand the scope and impact on the docs of the user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Proactively review assigned product documentation for continuous improvement.
- Identify gaps in existing content and propose remediation plans.
- Stay current on technical documentation industry trends and propose adjustments to current content to align with trends observed where appropriate.
- Communicate with globally distributed employees some of whom are non-native English speakers.
- Abide by company, department, and team policies, procedures, and standards, including templates, style guides, and processes.
- Use LLM generation to enhance the speed and quality of your deliverables.
- Have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, English, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience with technical writing.
- Experience with Markdown languages (e.g. MDS, RST, etc)
- Source code management experience (e.g. GitHub, Git)
- Linux command line experience
- Image editing tools (ex. GIMP)
- Understanding of relational databases
- Strong experience with relational databases, database administrator workflows, or Postgres in particular.
- Strong experience with a programming language.
- Experience using LLM generation as part of your workflow to enhance the speed and quality of producing technical documentation deliverables.
- Experience with Kubernetes.
