Applications are invited for a postdoctoral researcher to join the Radiochemistry and Nuclear Imaging Laboratory at CIC biomaGUNE, located in San Sebastián (Spain).
The selected candidate will develop an independent research line, in agreement with the group leader, and focused on in vivo nuclear imaging (preferably PET) and/or the development and evaluation of radiotracers. The candidate is expected to actively contribute to ongoing projects within the group and to lead his/her own research, preferably within the fields of neurology, oncology, respiratory diseases, or other experimental models of human pathology using rodents.
This position will involve the use of a wide range of techniques, including preclinical in vivo imaging (PET, SPECT, CT, MRI), image quantification and analysis, radiochemistry, and ex vivo validation methods such as autoradiography or immunohistochemistry. The candidate will be encouraged to apply for competitive funding and to contribute to supervising students and collaborative research activities.
The group is fully established and currently consists of 1 postdoctoral researcher, 10 PhD students, 2 entrepreneurial researchers and 2 technicians. The selected candidate will have access to state-of-the-art radiochemistry and imaging facilities including a cyclotron, radiochemistry laboratories, and preclinical PET-SPECT-CT and high-field MRI systems, as well as a generous budget for consumables and collaboration opportunities.
The candidate should hold a PhD in Biology, Biomedical Sciences, Medical Physics, or related fields, and must have experience in in vivo imaging, preferably nuclear imaging (PET) at the preclinical level.
Additional requirements include:
- Demonstrated experience in working with rodents and experimental models of disease.
- Knowledge of radiotracer development and/or in vivo application.
- Strong communication skills in English and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Motivation to develop and lead an original research line, aligned with the group’s focus.
- Experience in image analysis or supervision of students will be considered valuable assets.
The successful candidate will be offered a full-time temporary contract to work in the framework of the assigned independent research line.
