Job Description
The Restaurant Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the restaurant at Fairmont La Hacienda. Reporting to the Director of Food & Beverage, this role ensures an exceptional dining experience for all guests by coordinating operational planning, optimizing resources and costs, and fostering a culture of service excellence.
Responsibilities
Oversee and manage all restaurant activities, ensuring alignment with the gastronomic concept of Fairmont La Hacienda.
Ensure strict adherence to service standards (SOPs) and continuously work to improve the guest experience.
Manage food and beverage controls: inventory, costs, sales mix analysis, and stock handling.
Oversee accurate cash handling and compliance with established cash procedures.
Continuously train the team on product knowledge, menus, and service standards through hands-on and assessment-based training.
Monitor the presentation and quality of food and beverage offerings to ensure an outstanding guest experience.
Promote effective communication within the team, particularly during pre-service briefings, to ensure coordination and awareness of VIP guests and daily expectations.
Participate in recruitment processes, conduct performance evaluations, and support team development and staffing decisions.
Support administrative tasks such as departmental reporting, strategic planning, and interdepartmental coordination.
Foster and maintain a culture of service, motivation, and professionalism within the team.
Constantly seek opportunities to improve operational efficiency, control costs, and increase restaurant revenue.
Cultivate relationships with frequent guests to build customer loyalty.
Maintain impeccable restaurant and team presentation, promoting a professional and organized image.
Qualifications
Degree or diploma in Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, Business Administration, or a related field.Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar leadership role within upscale or luxury hotel restaurants.
Fluency in both Spanish and English is required.
Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop high-performing teams in a dynamic, service-driven environment.
Strong knowledge of restaurant operations, service standards, cost control, and budgeting.
Experience in implementing and monitoring service procedures and quality standards.
Solid understanding of food and beverage trends and guest experience expectations in a luxury environment.
Proficiency in restaurant POS systems, Microsoft Office, and basic reporting tools.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a guest-oriented mindset.
Availability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays.
Candidate must be a citizen of the European Union or possess a valid work permit for Spain.
