- Perform the function of Senior Civil Engineer on large or complex projects, including green-field projects and brown-field ones.
- Perform structural and civil calculations like foundation calculations, piling, earthworks, retaining walls, dynamic calculations, steel structures, blast resistant buildings, etc
- Interpretation of geotechnical reports
- Prepare contract requisitions for civil and structural work on assigned projects
- Prepare Job Specifications for civil and structural work on assigned projects
- Check, comment and approval of steel shop drawings.
- Check, comment and approval of precast concrete shop drawings.
- Co-ordination with the civil / structural team and also with other teams of different disciplines
- Ensure that all civil / structural engineering works on assigned projects is carried out in accordance with the requirements of the Project specifications
- Identify circumstances considered likely to result in contract changes and prepares manhour estimates to support contract changes.
- Advise the Leader Civil Engineer and Engineering Manager of any slippages and their causes and proposed corrective action including any technical problems and unresolved differences with other groups
- Liaise with specialist consultants appointed to support the Civil Engineering, Design Group and construction personnel and addresses site queries during construction
- Carry out periodic inspection of civil and structural work during construction to ensure correct interpretation of designs and issues completion certificates for structural work carried out on assigned projects
- Provide guidance and training to junior and trainee engineers
- Keep abreast of development in the civil and structural engineering field
- Perform such duties as may reasonably be assigned by the Leader Civil Engineer and Engineering Manager
- BSc (Civil Engineering) / BEng (Civil)
- 10 years relevant experience in Oil & Gas Projects (design and calculation)
- Excellent command of Spanish and English languages
- Good organization, written and oral skills
- Knowledge of Spanish and International Standards and Codes (EHE, CTE, EAE, EuroCodes, AISC, ACI, etc.)
- Advanced user of StaadPro and MS Office
- Holding a valid permit to live and work in Spain is required
- Immediate availability to join
