About the role:
Join our dynamic 5-person full stack development team at PayFit, where you'll be building declarations solutions that streamline interactions between our customers and government agencies across France, the UK, and Spain. We're on a mission to automate, scale, and enhance complex regulatory processes, making compliance seamless for businesses.
What you'll do:
- 🔧 Features development: Design and deliver new features that directly impact thousands of businesses navigating regulatory requirements
- 📐 Architecture excellence: Implement hexagonal architecture, CQRS, and Domain-Driven Design (DDD) tactical patterns to enhance code readability and maintainability
- 🎯 Technical leadership: Challenge product requirements, model solutions, and lead system design discussions
- 🏛️ Domain expertise: Dive deep into the declarations’ domain and translate complex regulatory requirements into clean, understandable code
- 👥 Collaboration: Conduct systematic code reviews and frequent pair programming sessions to maintain high code quality
Our tech stack:
- TypeScript/Node.js with NestJS framework
- Microservices architecture in a Nx monorepo
- Event-driven communication via an internal resource platform (built with AWS resources)
- Cloud architecture on AWS (Lambda functions, DynamoDB, S3, SQS, EKS, …)
- MongoDB for main domain data
- React on the frontend
- Vitest for testing, ESLint/Prettier for code quality
- Datadog for observability, CircleCI for CI/CD
- Docker containerization with AWS ECR
This role is for you if:
- You are an Engineer with 5+ years of experience and have an interest in learning Payroll and Declarations domains
- You have a strong proficiency with our tech stack (TypeScript, NestJS, AWS, MongoDB)
- You have an interesting hands-on experience with Domain-Driven design and Event-Driven Architecture, and have a strong understanding of hexagonal architecture.
- You are have a growth mindset with eagerness to learn and share knowledge
- You are comfortable with AI code assistants
- You are a Problem solver: You are a pragmatic and product-driven engineer who is interested in solving problems and delivering value while taking into account business <> tech tradeoffs.
- You are a Team player: You have good communication skills, are comfortable working in a partially remote team, and can easily work with non-technical colleagues.
- You are using Best Practices: You are an organized, rigorous engineer who follows best practices regarding code quality, clean architecture, testing, monitoring, code reviews, and CI/CD.
- You are fluent in English

Your future team:
Declarations squad is a team of 5 Software Engineers with an Engineering Manager leading the team, and a Product Manager who are working on their missions together.
Your future manager, Ghizlane has extensive experience in leading the development of complex technical projects, and will help you evolve in your role!
Hiring process:
1) A first call with our Talent Acquisition Specialist to explain you better the role and see your general fit to it. (30-45 mins)
2) A meeting with the Engineering Manager, Ghizlane, to discuss your technical background. (45 mins)
3) A technical Interview that comprises of 2 parts : Theoretical knowledge + live technical challenge. (60 min)
4) A system design interview, focusing on distributed systems and web architecture. (90 mins)
5) A final round meeting with our Product Manager & the Tribe Engineering Director. (30 mins)
