The Position
We are hiring for a professional Translator position to interpret written pieces in German, Spanish, Italian and French maintaining their original meaning, tone, and context within Cigna’s Global Health Benefits team. Our ideal candidate should be proficient in at least two of these languages, with an excellent understanding of grammar, nuances, and cultural references.
Reporting directly to the Strategy Management & Execution Manager, you will be responsible for effectively managing the Translation process from start to end including accurate and timely completion of translation requests. Working alongside key business stakeholders, including Sales and Client Managers, Marketing and Legal teams. In addition, you will play a central role in driving the broader Commercial roadmap with a meaningful impact, through translation leadership.
Key Responsibilities but not limited to:
- Translating written material including reports, manuals, marketing materials, and legal documents, from the source language into the target language
- Proofreading and editing final translated versions to ensure accuracy
- Using dictionaries, thesauruses, and reference books to find the closest equivalent for terminology and wording used
- Adapting translations to cultural backgrounds
- Following up with internal stakeholders to ensure their translations meet their needs
- Collaborating with team members to ensure timely and accurate translations
- Take ownership of all translations by ensuring internal processes are followed and deadlines are met Stay updated on industry terminology and language trends
Skills/Qualities:
- Proven work experience as a Translator, Interpreter, or similar role
- Fluency in at least two languages in addition to your native language
- Experience and knowledge of Adobe
- Excellent proofreading skills with the ability to identify grammar, spelling, and punctuation errors
- Good knowledge of content editing tools
- Familiarity with translation software
- Time-management skills
- BSc in Translation, Interpreting, or similar field
