The Opportunity:
Join our dynamic MACC (Marketing, Advertising, Comms, Consumer Products) Legal Team as an Associate, supporting our Marketing and Advertising teams, and seconding the MACC legal counsel in Spain and Portugal. This role is based in our Madrid office. The candidate will have broad responsibility for coordinating the management and dissemination of a high volume of commercial contracts in Spain. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced, innovative environment where you will collaborate with various teams across EMEA.
Key Responsibilities:
Contract Management/Drafting: Effective understanding of a wide range of commercial agreements, including NDAs, creative agency agreements, services agreements, brand partnership and co-promotion agreements, talent agreements, ad sales agreements; ad measurements agreements and licensing agreements to be able to support the drafting and management of agreements.
Coordination and Communication: Liaise internally with MACC legal counsels across EMEA and key legal partners in Content, IP, and other teams. Serve as a key point of support for internal cross-functional and external partners.
Legal Support: Support the MACC legal counsel in providing comprehensive legal advice on creative concepts, copy, marketing activations and ads policies research. Assist in navigating rights management by advising on talent agreements or third-party IP rights.
Documentation Management: Oversee the collection, review and signature process of contracts ensuring that all legal documents are gathered, organised, and examined for accuracy and completeness. Maintain and regularly update internal trackers and databases accordingly.
Innovation and Efficiency: Proactively learn about new innovations, tools, and initiatives. Enhance team operational efficiency by taking proactive initiatives and maintaining flexibility to take on additional projects as necessary.
Preferred Candidate Profile:
4+ years of experience in a contract management and legal support role within an entertainment / media environment is essential to be considered for this role.
Prior experience in legal and business affairs for advertising or creative agencies is a plus.
Collaborative, able to work as part of a geographically widespread team, and capable of building excellent relationships across the business.
Comfortable assessing risk and making smart decisions in ambiguous situations.
Strategic, commercial thinker with sound judgment, focusing on practical solutions.
Intellectually curious with great initiative and self-motivation, inspired by the Netflix culture.
Adaptable and comfortable working in a varied and changeable environment.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of juggling multiple responsibilities.
Spanish (native level fluency) and English (fluent level) required. Other languages are a plus.
