The Repairs and Maintenance Manager role:
Are you passionate about delivering high-quality repairs and maintenance services while ensuring the safety and well-being of our customers? If so, we have an exciting secondment opportunity for a Repairs and Maintenance Manager to join our Property Services department!
In this role, you’ll lead repairs and maintenance operations with a right-first-time approach, develop maintenance programmes, oversee projects, and drive performance within the team and contractors.
You’ll also contribute to the Property Services review by identifying development areas, meaningfully challenging processes, and driving business improvements with your ability to persuade key stakeholders through evidence-based advice.
Key duties and responsibilities of our Repairs and Maintenance Manager:
- Be responsible for the day-to-day management and supervision of the Senior Repairs and Maintenance Surveyor and wider team of Repairs and Maintenance Surveyors.
- Provide ongoing management for contract partners, including monitoring performance by measuring against contractual KPIs, and will involve making both operational and financial decisions.
- Maintain computerised records of the housing stock and other premises managed by Berneslai Homes, to ensure that the data we hold is kept fully up to date, reviewed, and utilised in decision making processes.
- Evaluate and present any necessary system improvements to enhance service and increase positive outcomes
- Review and monitor existing documentation including Specifications, Policies & Procedures, Risk Assessments and working arrangements.
- Provide day-to-day technical advice to Berneslai Home’s staff, contractors, and tenants

What we’re looking for in our Repairs and Maintenance Manager:
- Level 6 qualification, or proven extensive experience.
- Relevant management qualification or proven experience of managing / supervising a team.
- Membership of a Construction Industry related Professional Body (CIOB / RICS etc)[SM1].
- Be an innovative, Curious leader who has a Can-Do/Lets Do approach and puts the Customer First.
- Excellent understanding of the RSH Homes Standard and HSE requirements [SM1]or evidenced experience
