Description
For our Global Engineering team for power transformers, we are looking for a senior electrical design engineer responsible for optimizing designs and identifying the best solution and performing design reviews. The candidate work in an environment with close link to R&D experts and will support R&D projects or other global initiatives with special design activities. As part of a global team, the candidate will interact with the engineering community across all our factories worldwide.
How you’ll make an impact
Electrical design optimization of must-win tenders and frame agreements, meeting customer specification and internal rules
Electrical design reviews for critical designs, validation of the different solutions.
Work on strategic initiatives in close collaboration with global engineering function, which may include special design investigations, documentation, and preparation of technical guidelines.
Support the development and deployment of our design tools.
Support the engineering community, contributing to spread the knowledge across different locations.
Your background
University Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering and minimum 5 years’ experience in electrical design of power transformers.
Design experience in some of the following subjects: rectifier or furnace transformers, variable speed drive transformers with special connections (extended delta, closed delta/polygon or zig-zag) and harmonics, or special rail infrastructure transformers (Static Frequency Converter, or Scott, or Le-Blanc, or V/V, or Woodbridge, or Rectifier transformers).
Familiarity with international standards such as IEC, IEEE, and others pertaining to power transformers is highly desirable. Design experience aligned with IEEE/ANSI standards is also preferred.
Analytical mindset combined with a focus on quality and the ability to propose and design solutions.
Excellent English skills, both oral and written,
Willingness to travel abroad.
