Job Description :
About us
Diageo is the world’s leading premium drinks company with an outstanding collection of brands, such as Johnnie Walker, Smirnoff, Baileys, Captain Morgan, Tanqueray and Guinness. Our purpose – Celebrating life, every day, everywhere – has a meaningful role in our company, for our people, our diversity, our brands, in how we perform and how we build shared value.
About the Role
We are looking for a seasoned and strategic finance leader to join Diageo Spain as Head of Finance – On-Trade. This is a senior leadership role at the heart of our commercial organization — one that combines financial strategy, performance management, and business partnering to drive value across our On-Trade channel (bars, restaurants, hospitality, and premium outlets).
As the finance lead for this strategically critical channel, you’ll act as the right hand to the On-Trade Commercial Director and a key member of the local leadership team. You’ll lead a high-caliber finance team, shape trade investment strategy (Gross-to-Net), optimize pricing decisions, and embed commercial discipline to unlock sustainable growth and margin expansion.
You’ll bring strong financial leadership and strategic thinking to help shape customer investment strategies, improve spend efficiency, and elevate how we use data and insights to drive growth. You will also contribute to broader business priorities, including profitability programs, margin expansion, and commercial capability building.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Finance Leadership & Commercial Business Partnering
- Serve as the strategic finance partner to the On-Trade Commercial Director, co-owning delivery of performance goals and shaping the annual operating plan.
- Provide clear direction on financial strategy, pricing decisions, trade-offs, and long-range planning in a complex and competitive channel.
- Use data and insight to provoke better decision-making, balancing brand growth ambitions with customer investment returns.
- Partner with customer, sales, and brand teams to identify growth opportunities, assess risk, and ensure smart capital deployment.
2. Accountability for Gross-to-Net (G2N) and Trade Investment Strategy
- Hold full accountability for Gross-to-Net (G2N) management in partnership with Revenue Growth Management (RGM), ensuring that trade investments (rebates, bonifications, commercial terms) are effectively forecasted, governed, and evaluated.
- Drive visibility and control across commercial spend with strong financial frameworks and ROI-led evaluation of investment choices.
- Lead initiatives to improve trade spend efficiency and post-event analysis, ensuring learnings translate into better forward-looking decisions.
- Contribute to regional and global trade investment efficiency and pricing agendas with best practices, drawing on external benchmarks and cross-market experience.
3. Financial Planning, Control & Performance Management
- Lead forecasting, scenario planning, and monthly performance reviews for the On-Trade channel.
- Ensure a robust financial control environment with strong risk management, compliance, and audit readiness.
- Drive working capital and cash improvement initiatives
4. People Leadership & Talent Development
- Lead, develop, and inspire a team of finance professionals, providing coaching, direction, and growth opportunities.
- Build a high-performing, insight-driven culture where finance acts as a proactive business partner.
- Set clear expectations, hold high standards, and create an environment of trust, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Serve as a role model of Diageo’s leadership standards and values.
About you

- Proven expertise in Gross-to-Net (G2N) management, including trade investment planning, governance, and post-event analysis.

- Strong team leadership skills, with a history of managing and developing high-performing finance teams.
- Solid academic background in Economics, Engineering, or other quantitative fields, with a Master’s in Finance, MBA, or equivalent advanced qualification.
- Strong data and analytics mindset, with hands-on experience building or deploying tools like Power BI or Qlik to support commercial decision-making and investment evaluation.
- Fluent in Spanish and English.
Preferred
- Portuguese language skills.
- Experience with global or regional roles and/or centers of excellence.
- Background in FMCG, consumer health, or retail with exposure to both commercial partnering and operational finance.
