The Regional Sales Manager – Europe is a strategic leadership role responsible for driving sales performance, developing market-specific commercial strategies, and enhancing the Costco member experience through tailored solutions and events. Operating across multiple European markets, the Regional Sales Manager partners closely with Costco buyers, brokers, and vendors to develop and execute high-impact sampling programs and promotional campaigns.
This position requires a dynamic, analytical, and relationship-focused leader who can translate market insights into actionable strategies and support the performance of cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Strategy & Execution
- Develop and implement commercial strategies tailored to specific European markets.
- Set annual and monthly sales targets aligned with overall business objectives.
- Optimize promotional and event strategies to maximize revenue and member engagement.
Stakeholder Engagement & Partnership Management
- Foster strong relationships with Costco buyers, brokers, and vendors.
- Provide actionable insights on product sampling trends and custom event programs.
- Collaborate with internal departments (Sales, Marketing, Finance, Operations) to ensure strategic alignment.
Performance Tracking & Reporting
- Track regional KPIs and provide performance reports with recommendations for improvement.
- Manage resource allocation across markets, ensuring efficient and cost-effective operations.
- Present forecasts and performance updates to senior leadership.
Team Leadership & Development
- Offer leadership and development opportunities to local sales teams across markets.
- Promote a culture of high performance, accountability, and continuous improvement.
What We’re Looking For
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree required; Master’s in Business, Marketing, or related field preferred.
- 8+ years of progressive experience in sales/marketing, with 5+ years in team management.
- Proven track record in European retail, event marketing, or consumer goods sectors.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong business acumen and understanding of European retail dynamics.
- Outstanding communication and negotiation skills across diverse cultural contexts.
- Analytical mindset with experience in KPI management and performance reporting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and enterprise business systems.
- Fluent in English, Spanish, and French
Travel Requirements
- Travel required up to 50% across European markets.
- Flexibility to work across time zones
