The Barcelona Institute for Global Health (ISGlobal) is a cutting-edge institute addressing global public health challenges through research, translation into policy and education. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
ISGlobal is looking for a research technician to cover technical work in a research project on cognitive function and urban environment in the adult population in the framework of the iMAP study Barcelona “The international Mind, Activities and urban Places in Barcelona study: Building the evidence base on the relationships between environment, active living and cognitive health”. The overarching aim of this study is to examine the extent to which, how, and for whom aspects of the urban environment influence brain health and cognitive health in 600 mid-aged and older (50-79 years) community dwellers living in Barcelona, Spain.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- We are looking for a person to arrange appointments and interview the study participants.
SPECIFIC DUTIES
- Arranging the participant’s interviews.
- Interview the participants at the ISGlobal offices or at the participant’s house.
- Participating in the logistics required by the study.
- Coordination with the other team members.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous experience in epidemiological research studies and interviewing study participants will be valued.
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
- We are looking for a person with high communication skills, as well as a professional attitude towards study participants, with attention to details. Moreover, we are looking for a person with high organization and teamwork skills, capable of working autonomously, proactively and motivated, with good verbal and written communication.
- Flexibility of schedules will be highly valued as some interviews may be in the afternoon/evening.
LANGUAGE LEVEL
- Proficiency in Catalan and Spanish.
- Knowledge of English will be valued.

SELECTION PROCESS
The selection process is designed in two phases:
1- Interview phase of a technical nature, with the team that requires the incorporation. To assess the person's skills and CV.
2 - Meeting with HR with the finalist(s) to finish assessing the profile and discuss contractual and institutional issues.
If needed any technical test could be passed. A Psychological Competency Evaluation Test will be required for the structural or transversal positions.
In accordance with the OTM-R principles, a gender-balanced recruitment panel is formed for every vacancy at the beginning of the process. After reviewing the content of the applications, the panel will start the interviews, with at least one technical and one administrative interview.
