Job Description
We are looking for a Senior Accountant with solid experience in general accounting and Spanish tax regulations to join our Finance team. This is a full-time, on-site position in Madrid, offering the opportunity to work in an agile, tech-driven environment while providing accounting rigor and key support to our international growth.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations
- Manage accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) invoices
- Review and approve employee expenses in accordance with internal policy
- Post payroll journal entries and process salary payments
- Reconcile corporate credit cards and business expenses
- Ensure compliance with Spanish tax obligations (Forms 303, 349, 390, 111, 190, 115, 180)
- Perform subledger and intercompany reconciliations
- Maintain fixed assets and amortizations
- Complete INE statistical surveys
- Prepare weekly payment batches through the bank platform
- Actively participate in monthly financial closings
- Respond to internal accounting inquiries and ad hoc requests
- Minimum 5 years of experience in general accounting, preferably in Spanish companies
- Strong command of Spanish GAAP (PGC) and tax reporting
- Experience with accounting tools such as A3, SAP, or similar
- Attention to detail, autonomy, and strong organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
- Fluent in both Spanish and English, written and spoken
- Full-time, in-person role (37.5 hours/week) based in Madrid
