As a Senior Electronics ASIC Development Engineer, you will play a crucial role in developing cutting-edge medical devices, with a strong emphasis on advanced medical electronic systems. You will be leading the development of application specific integrated circuits (ASICs) that are part of an implantable neurostimulation system.
You will be at the forefront of bringing advanced healthcare solutions to market, making a tangible difference in people´s lives worldwide.
Your profile
Main Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of application specific integrated circuits (ASICs) that are part of an implantable neurostimulation system.
- Architect technical concepts and assess its technical feasibility
- Generate intellectual property.
- Translate system requirements into ASIC and interface requirements.
- Manage external IC design houses in the outsourced design, simulation, manufacturing, test and validation of the ASICs.
- Support the integration and process development related to ASIC integration into the neurostimulation system.
- Apply risk management and perform design failure mode and effect analysis (DFMEA) on designs.
- Initiate and lead design reviews and technical reviews.
- Define test strategies to verify the electronic systems against the product and manufacturing requirements.
- Apply DFR/DFM/DFT (Design for Reliability, Design for Manufacturing and Design for Test), including modelling, analysis, and statistical analysis.
- Participate in system integration, verification, and validation.
Qualifications and Soft skills:
- BSc or MSc in Integrated Circuit Design Electronics Engineering.
- At least 8 years of work experience in a relevant medical device development environment, with experience executing a full development cycle.
- Experienced in analog or mixed signal IC design for (implantable) medical devices.
- Experienced in the full development cycle of an ASIC including design, simulation, manufacturing, verification, and validation.
- A system-thinking attitude, identify areas of potential improvement and develop plans to address these; Team oriented, a sparring partner to colleagues in other disciplines.
- Solid understanding of (Medical) Risk Analysis and FMEA.
- Experienced in managing projects outsourced to IC design subcontractors for development, manufacturing, and integration of ASICs.
- Experienced in Verification test design and execution.
- Fluency in English required (English is company language). Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
- Determination to develop yourself and others.
- Be a team player.
- Communicate effectively.
- Think and act strategically.
- Fast learner, self-motivated and pro-active individual able to work in the fast-moving environment of a dynamic start-up company.
- Experienced in digital IC design and development.
- Familiar with medical device development applicable standards.
- Experience in neuroscience.
