Sous Chef – Mercat Tramuntana (Puigpunyent, Mallorca)
We are looking for a talented Sous Chef to join the kitchen at Mercat Tramuntana - a Mediterranean-inspired deli and restaurant focused on honest, high-quality food made from scratch. The ideal candidate is passionate about seasonal produce, confident with classic techniques, and thrives in a well-organised kitchen.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Head Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen
- Lead service in the Head Chef’s absence, ensuring consistent quality and pace
- Oversee prep, mise en place, and stock rotation to minimise waste and maximise efficiency
- Contribute to menu development, specials, and seasonal updates
- Uphold hygiene, food safety, and cleanliness standards at all times
- Train and support junior kitchen team members
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role
- Solid knowledge of Mediterranean and Italian cuisine
- Strong organisational and leadership skills
- Comfortable with batch prep and high-quality casual dining service
- Level-headed under pressure, with a good eye for detail
- Spanish or English speaking - mainly English (both a plus)
