About Darkroom
We're building the future of advertising and are looking for the minds to help us do it.
Darkroom is a progressive omnichannel growth marketing agency focused on retail, e-commerce, and consumer businesses. We have been recognized as one of the fastest growing private companies in America by Inc. 5000 (2023), a top 1% digital advertiser by Varos (2023), and our founders were named Forbes 30 Under 30 recipients for Marketing and Advertising North America (2024).
As a Video Editor on Darkroom’s internal Marketing Team, you’ll play a critical role in shaping the visual storytelling behind our brand. You'll work closely with our Video Lead, Design Lead, and Director to transform raw content into engaging, high-impact videos for platforms like Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, and LinkedIn. This is a fast-moving, creative, and collaborative role for someone with sharp instincts, strong technical skills, and a passion for crafting content that connects with audiences.
In this role, you’ll develop a scalable, high-output video content engine that fuels Darkroom’s brand voice. You’ll design a creative system for rapid, high-quality production across channels, repurposing standout moments from podcasts, events, and behind-the-scenes footage. With a performance-driven approach to storytelling, you’ll adapt quickly to platform shifts, experiment with new formats, and continuously refine output based on real-world results.
This is a fully remote role supporting a team in the EST time zone and is open to candidates based in Brazil, Portugal, and Spain.
What You’ll Do
Social-First Video Editing
Edit and produce standout content across short-form (TikTok, Reels, Shorts) and long-form (YouTube, webinars).
Create native video formats optimized for IG, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, and X, including repurposed edits and cutdowns.
Build scroll-stopping hooks, apply text overlays, closed captions, sound design, and motion graphics that support performance.
Turn voice notes, podcasts, webinars and interviews into polished, platform-native video content.
Surface and extract the most compelling moments from raw footage: podcast soundbites, behind-the-scenes gems, founder tangents, interviews, etc.
Collaborate with the Video Lead on edits, structure, and narrative framing.
Organize, tag, and manage footage to create a systemized pipeline for recurring content formats.
Understand performance data and collaborate with the marketing team to refine editing strategies based on what drives reach, engagement, and conversion.
Test hooks, variations and formats to optimize output over time.
Stay ahead of editing trends and platform algorithm shifts.
Production Excellence
Apply finishing touches: color correction, transitions, graphics, and text effects that align with the Darkroom brand language.
Deliver content in multiple aspect ratios and formats for cross-platform distribution.
Maintain high audio fidelity, visual clarity, and consistent branding across deliverables.
Proactively troubleshoot creative or technical challenges and recommend solutions.
Support post-production for Darkroom’s podcast and event recordings.
Add intros/outros, audio enhancements, and accessible subtitles.
You’re a Great Fit If You:
Have 3-4+ years of experience editing content for social-first brands, creators, or agencies.
Know your way around Adobe Premiere, Final Cut, and have working knowledge of After Effects, Photoshop and motion graphics.
Have a sharp eye for storytelling, pacing, and rhythm, and you know how to build content that keeps attention.
Understand editing for performance, not just aesthetics. You know what performs on TikTok vs. YT Shorts vs. LinkedIn.
Are fluent in optimizing content across multiple aspect ratios and formats.
Can own your edit from concept to final export while staying collaborative, communicative, and open to feedback.
Thrive in fast-paced, feedback-rich environments where no two days (or edits) are the same.
Are organized, meticulous, and always ready with a plan B (or C).
Bonus Points If You:
Have experience editing founder-led content or personal brand material.
Have worked on performance-driven or growth marketing creative.
Use AI tools (Descript, Runway, etc.) for cutdowns, transcription, or speeding up your workflow.
