About the Role
The Vessel Performance Analyst is an important member of our Performance Analytics team. The primary responsibility is to support the development and improvement of methods, tools, and dashboards for data analysis, contributing to informed decision-making based on Ship Performance Monitoring.
The role reports to the Vessel Performance Manager and works closely with the team on data processing, coding, dashboard creation, and interpreting results to provide actionable insights.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the development and improvement of vessel performance monitoring tools and analytics workflows.
- Support the implementation and testing of algorithms for analysing vessel behaviour and efficiency.
- Assist in designing and maintaining dashboards to communicate key performance indicators.
- Work with large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and operational anomalies under guidance.
- Prepare clear, well-documented analyses and contribute to practical recommendations for decision-making.
- Collaborate with senior team members and cross-functional groups to validate models and improve performance analytics tools.
Required competencies:
- Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or a related discipline. PhD preferred
- 1-3 years of experience on similar roles.
- Solid understanding of marine hydrodynamics, ship resistance, propulsion, and vessel dynamics.
- Familiarity with numerical and statistical methods.
- Proficiency in Python and/or MATLAB for scientific computing and data analysis.
- Experience with data visualization and analytics tools.
- Ability to work in a collaborative environment and manage multiple tasks with supervision.
- Good communication skills, with willingness to present results to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
