VHIR's offers a contract to work as a Research Technician to work at the animal facilities and laboratory within the Neurovascular Research Group. Our lab is focused in stroke research from a basic and translational point of view. The group is composed by a young and highly motivated group of researchers: neurologists, biologists, technicians, statisticians, psychologists and nurses. This position will support to several studies involving animal models of stroke in rodents within the RICORS program.
Education and qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Neuroscience, Health Sciences or similar (Biology, Biomedicine, etc.)
- Certificate in Laboratory Animal Science & Experimentation (Level C or D)
Desired:
- Fluent English
Experience and knowledge:
Required:
- Experience in a biomedical research laboratory (minimum 24 months).
- Specific experience in animal models of stroke in rodents (MCA occlusions).
- Experience in mouse colony management.
- Experience in collection, storage and tissue sample processing
- Computer skills and experience in basic data representation and statistical analysis (Graph Pad)
- Personal skills: well-organized, methodical, proactive and aptitude for teamwork.
Desired:
- Experience in Cell and Molecular Biology Techniques
Main responsibilities and duties:
- Animal Models, surgeries and colony management.
- General maintenance of animal experimentation supplies and equipment.
- Tissue sample handling and processing
- Genotyping & basic molecular biology techniques in tissues.
- Writing reports, statistical analyses and results interpretation.
Labour conditions:
- Full-time position: 40h/week.
- Starting date: by mid-September 2025.
- Gross annual salary: 23.000 - 25.000 euros (Remuneration will depend on experience and skills. Salary ranges are consistent with our Collective Agreement pay scale)
- Contract: Technical and scientific activities contract linked to the project activities
