Mission
As a Calibration Engineer your mission will be to lead the calibration strategy across our organization. In this role, you will be responsible for the definition and execution of PLD Space Calibration Plan. You will also develop and implement calibration processes that meet ISO 17025, as well as manage the Certification Plan under this standard. Additionally, you will perform calibrations, execute audits, keep certifications up to date, prepare quality documentation and collaborate with Quality Assurance activities across the company.Responsibilities

- Define and implement the calibration strategy (in/out) for all the instruments at PLD Space.
- Define and execute the Calibration Plan to keep all the instruments calibrated according to PLD Space requirements.
- Drive the development and implementation of processes to achieve and maintain ISO 17025 certification.
- Define calibration procedures for internal calibrations of instruments or equipment.
- Define calibration specifications for external calibration of instruments or equipment.
- Be the focal point for ISO 17025 certification audits.
- Train the calibration team on procedures and good practices for calibration of instruments or equipment.
- Prepare reports regarding calibration status and any other field-related topic for internal stakeholders.
- Define KPIs for the Calibration Area and keep them up to date.
- Collaborate in calibration activities with the Calibration Technicians.
- Collaborate in QA activities as needed by the Quality Department.
Responsabilities
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, with preference in Aerospace, or Mechanical.
- Minimum of 2 years in similar roles, preferably in the aerospace industry.
- Experience in certification of Calibration Laboratories according to ISO 17025
- Strong understanding of quality management principles, calibration processes, quality control techniques, and product assurance processes.
- Hands on the job, autonomy, communication and reporting skills, ability to work in multidisciplinary environments.
Desired Requirements
- Experience in product assurance or quality management within the aerospace industry and with ECSS standards:
- Experience in working under a Quality Management System based in ISO 9100
- Fluent in English and Spanish, written and spoken.
