With the launch of the NBS Global Leaders (NGL) Programme, additional resources are needed to ensure robust overseas industry exposure for the NBS undergrads.
The Assistant Director/Senior Assistant Director is responsible for the global exposure for NGL scholars starting in 2025 and the rest of NBS students. He/She is responsible for driving Sustainability Projects overseas trips (consulting and sustainability) for NGL and AFL BSM. He/She will drive overseas exposure for the remaining students through i.e. Business Study Mission BSM) overseas internships and work stints and endowed scholarships/internships.
The aim is to build up the ASEAN, China and India and rest of the world, business acumen and understanding of overseas economies in NBS undergraduates, opening doors for them to start their careers abroad. It ensures that our NBS undergraduate programme remains competitive as other IHLs are also offering overseas exposure, which is increasingly necessary in this age of highly globalised workforce.
- Students will go on Business Study Missions (BSMs). NBS targets to run 3 x BSMs per year with 20 students per trip (60 in 2026 and with increases to 100 from 2027.
- NGL students (40 per intake) will have SPS during their 2nd year. This module will allow scholars to be exposed to and to solve real-life problems through sustainability consulting projects with top employers and industry partner overseas. There will also be internships with top employers overseas.
The Assistant Director/Senior Assistant Director will also create new Work Study Programmes for the revamped undergraduate programmes. The new programme will be a minor with credits to accelerate career readiness and skills of NBS students for better employability.
Key requirements:
- At least a bachelor’s degree from a reputable university
- At least 10 years of working experience
- Experience in building a holistic academic education that is immersive, skillset and mindset building, and complementary non-curriculum activities.
- Experience in engaging C-Suite executives and senior stakeholders, government agencies
- Strong relationships and communication skills to foster partnerships and create opportunities with Corporate Partners
- Have existing network and good knowledge and experience with overseas employers especially in ASEAN, India, China
- Able to navigate different environments and communicate effectively with both students and employers, driving results and achieving objectives.
- A good understanding of NBS education approach to building overseas mindsets
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment
- Excellent client service skills which include the ability to effectively follow up and follow through
- Have existing network and good knowledge and experience in engaging corporate partners around the world, especially ACI
