The Role
At GTD Defense & Security Solutions, we design, develop, and integrate advanced systems to protect people, critical infrastructure, and territories. Our solutions support a wide range of operations — from peacekeeping to search & rescue — and span from command centers to personnel in the field, including training and simulation platforms.
We are currently looking for a Software Development Engineer to join our team in San Fernando or Puerto de Santa María (Cádiz). You’ll become part of GTD Defense & Security Solutions, a company within the GTD Group specialized in large-scale, complex, and safety-critical system applications.

Position activities
You will work as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team, contributing to the integration of complex systems across mechanical, electrical, electronic, and software domains. Our main projects focus on land border surveillance and naval systems, both for national and international clients.
You’ll be involved throughout the entire project lifecycle, including technical specification, system design, production, and verification & validation phases.
More specifically, as a member of the software development team for Navantia's CATIZ Combat Management System (CMS), you will:

Support the design and implementation of CMS software for export programs.
Participate in:

Software design
Software development in line with system requirements
Static and dynamic software testing
Build generation and automation
Execution of unit, integration, and qualification test protocols
On-site support during ship trials (HAT and SAT)
Identification, logging, and resolution of software anomalies during test campaigns.

Your profile:
- Experience in Linux Operating System.
- Experience in object oriented programming C++ (QT environment).
- Experience in real-time systems applications.
- Experience in static and dynamic analysis tools.
- Software quality.
- Experience in build generation.
- Experience in continuous integration, cross and distributed compilation.
- Experience with Dockers is a plus.
- Experience in software migration will be an asset.
Nice to have:
- Previous experience in the use of IBM's Change, Synergy and DOORS suite of tools.
- Previous experience in naval systems programs and Personal Security Clearance (HPS).
- Knowledge of Combat Systems and/or Command and Control Systems.
- Knowledge of Training and Simulation Systems.
