At Crearte Consulting, we are seeking an Accounting Manager with an Interim Management Contract for a 9-12 month project for a French multinational in the industrial sector.
The Group's headquarters are in Paris, France, and the position will be based in its Bilbao offices in Spain. Need to be in Bilbao during the week, monday to friday at the begining is required, but could be 2 days remote work after 1 month. The person could live in any city of Spain but has to travel during the week to Bilbao, and all accommodation and travel expenses are paid by the company.
The company where you will carry out the project is a French international group. The contract will be an interim contract for 9-12 months, initially with a freelance contract through our French Interim Management partner.
You must be fluent in English and French, Spanish is not requered but desirable.
Role Purpose:
“BUILD” – set up accounting operations in Northern Spain for our client French entities. Lead transfer of accounting operations from France to Northern Spain. Ensure smooth annual closing and audit of 2025 accounts during a transition phase (combining newly recruited Spanish and existing team members)
“RUN” - Leads a team of accountants, responsible for the production of high-quality monthly management and statutory financial reporting in IFRS and French local Gaap.
The role report to Western Europe Finance Director.
“BUILD” Responsibilities: recruitment, transfer planning and implementation, onboarding, coordination with the team in France
“RUN” Responsibilities:
Aptitudes y conocimientos deseados:
• Qualified accountant equivalent or in France DESCF • Experience in accounting operations transfer or SSC build • Prior experience of producing statutory accounts in IFRS and local Gaap for a complex business with stock management, a plus if experience in French Gaap • Prior experience in a Financial Accounting / auditing role, ideally with experience of manufacturing organisation(s) • Prior experience of leading a team of accountants • Experience in managing tax requirements • Experience of working in an international context, within a foreign group, in the big 4 is a plus • Experience of Shared Service center is a plus • Proficiency in SAP. Use to work with group reporting tools such as Tagetik, Hyperion or OnStream • Very strong abilities in Microsoft Excel • Fluent in English and French (written and verbal)

“RUN” Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations and management for accounts payable, fixed assets, general ledger, accounts receivable, bank accounts and other accounting services
- Provide data and reporting as per companies standards in IFRS and French Gaap
- Ensure and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations (including intercompany) with proper documentation
- Compliance: ensure compliance with IFRS/French GAAP, French local requirements, internal standard operating procedures and internal control principles
- Audit: responsible and serve as point of contact for external and internal auditor teams. Ensure quality response within the timeframe agreed with the auditors
- Work with external experts to complete any French local requirements
- Identify, design, and implement process improvement strategies
- Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout the organization
- Ensure the team is well trained to perform effectively with quality the duties
- Manage the communication with internal customers based in France (such as the Business Service Managers of the clusters), with Western Europe Directors and with corporates functions
- Maintain positive relationships with all the stakeholders
- Ensure the SLA between the accounting departments and the internal customers is met
