Nido Living
Madrid, Comunidad de Madrid
Tiempo completo
hace 2 días

At Nido, we create more than just student accommodation – we build vibrant communities where students can thrive. As a fast growing student housing provider in Europe, we put people and the planet first, delivering exceptional spaces, conscious communities, and unparalleled experiences.

We are undertaking an ambitious and strategic journey to become Europe’s leading provider of Purpose-Built Student Accommodation (PBSA). With active expansion into key markets including Germany and Italy, we are building the foundations for long-term, pan-European growth.

We are looking for an HR Business Partner to join our newly created head office in Madrid and play a central role in supporting our operations across Iberia. This is an opportunity to combine strategic impact with hands-on delivery, shaping how we attract, engage, and develop our people in a fast-paced, international environment.

As a trusted advisor, you’ll work closely with leaders and teams across multiple countries, building strong partnerships that help translate business goals into meaningful people strategies. You’ll play a key role in creating an inclusive and engaging workplace where individuals and teams can thrive, while also ensuring our practices remain compliant and future-ready.

The role offers exposure to the full spectrum of HR – from recruitment and onboarding, to employee relations, performance management, talent development, and HR policy. You’ll have the scope to influence big-picture strategy while also rolling up your sleeves to deliver practical, day-to-day solutions. It’s a chance to truly make an impact, contributing to Nido’s growth story and shaping the employee experience across Iberia.

KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to)

HR Strategy & Business Partnership

  • Partner with managers to understand business priorities and provide HR solutions that enable performance and growth.
  • Coach and support leaders on all people-related matters, including development, change management, and team performance.
  • Champion an engaging and inclusive employee experience across all stages of the employee lifecycle

HR Operations & Employee Relations

  • Act as the primary HR contact for our Iberian teams, building strong relationships across all levels of the organisation.
  • Provide guidance on HR policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure consistency and compliance.
  • Manage employee relations matters with fairness and discretion, including investigations, performance issues, and exit processes.

Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Lead and support recruitment processes in partnership with hiring managers, ensuring we attract and select the right talent.
  • Develop onboarding experiences that reflect Nido’s culture and set new hires up for success from day one.

Performance & Talent Development

  • Coordinate and monitor the performance review process, ensuring timely completion and meaningful outcomes.
  • Identify training needs and implement initiatives to close skill gaps, foster career development, and build high-performing teams.
  • Support managers in developing their leadership capabilities through coaching and mentoring.

Compliance & HR Policy

  • Keep up to date with employment legislation in Iberia, ensuring Nido remains compliant across all jurisdictions.
  • Draft, update, and roll out HR policies and procedures that are practical, relevant, and aligned with our values.

HR Data & Analytics

  • Use HR data and analytics to identify trends, assess risks, and inform decision-making.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and contribute to workforce planning and reporting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in HR, Business Administration, Law, or related field.
  • 5-10 years of broad HR experience, ideally in an international or multi-country context.
  • Strong knowledge of Spanish & Portuguese labour law; familiarity with other European jurisdictions is an asset (Germany and Italy)
  • Fluent in English and Spanish (written and spoken); additional European languages are a plus (German and Italian)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and HR systems; a quick learner for digital tools.
  • Successful background screening (e.g. Veremark) required.

Key Skills & Attributes

  • A strong communicator who can build trust and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Practical, proactive, and solutions-focused, with the ability to work independently and take ownership.
  • Adaptable and resilient in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Passionate about people, learning, and continuous improvement.
  • Culturally aware, inclusive, and collaborative in your approach.
  • Someone who brings positivity, humour, and energy – and knows how to create connections while getting things done.
